Happy Day...

May 11th, 2009

This is what greeted me Sunday Morning... followed by the chanting, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!!" Love these two so much...

The kiddos also made me exactly what I wanted... homemade cards... filled with extra glitter glue and gems! Ainsley also made me a picture for the fridge and wrote an essay about why she loves her Mom at school...

I got treated to homemade blueberry muffins...

We got our garden planted... soo glad to get that done since the next few weekends we will be gone.

Later we had a dinner picnic at the park and then walked the path while the kids rode bikes... fun times!

Soaked

May 4th, 2009

This was the scene at the soccer games this weekend... Rained on at Walker's game... more like soaked! Thank goodness Ainsley's game was canceled.. I SO didn't want to sit through another hour in the rain.

And this was the scene this morning... Little Bug home from school sick.

Guess Who???

May 1st, 2009

Guess who read 38 books this month, giving her a second place prize??

Can you tell what the special prize was?? A new jump rope. She came running out of school today with it in hand and could not wait to get home to show me how it worked.

So very proud of her!! She's now reading at 2.9 what she likes most about that is... it's location in the library... it's now on the back of the first bookshelf... funny what's important to them.

Social Butterfly and the Legoer...

April 28th, 2009

Ahh... Seven seems so much bigger!

She's becoming quite the social butterfly... a birthday party on Saturday... another birthday party on Sunday... and a tea party yesterday after school.   Yesterday when I picked her up she said, "Awh... I don't want to go yet!" and you gotta love this one, "How come you're always the first parent to pick me up?" (guess she figured out that I'm a tad anxious to have her home?)

Walker is our Lego Boy lately... I love to watch him sort pieces, follow directions and build.

Some recent creations...

Hello Monday...

Saturday Highlights...

April 26th, 2009

Started out the weekend with the usual soccer games... Walker's got cancelled so we only had to freeze for 1 game. Ainsley's team did so well, started working like a team... passing... communicating... and just about everyone scored a goal... which is always good for team spirit.

Then we headed to the Environmental Fair. Kiddos answered a few questions about plants and then we brought home these two tomato plants!

They did some painting with dirt... which was dirt, glue and water. I think this will be a summer project this year too!

They made a few other crafty projects... spun all the "wheel of wow's" to get a prize. Walker won a CFL bulb (which he said he needs for his robot he plans to build) and Ainsley was thrilled with the chapstick she won. Lastly we had to make a stop at the Firetrucks... which was the highlight of the day for Little Bug. He got to sit in the front seat and then he and Daddy climbed into the back seat! No matter how many times he's seen the trucks he still can hardly wait to head inside.

We hurried home for Ainsley had a birthday party to attend. It was a fashion show birthday party. All the girls wore their best " fashion creations", got their hair, nails and makeup done and then they had a little runway show. Here's Ainsley all "glammed" up.

School Work...

April 24th, 2009

This came home today in Walker's Backpack... love the sharp teeth!

Mother Nature...

April 23rd, 2009

In honor of Earth Day yesterday... here is Mother Nature at it's best.

We have a little Robin that has made a nest right in our big Blue Spruce tree... it's been fun to watch it grow. We try to not disturb the Mama bird but we can't help but wonder what's going on. Thought maybe we had scared her off for I didn't see her for a few days but nope yesterday saw her busy working in her nest... until Walker and I went outside that is... she then flew to the fence where she remained watching us as we waited for her to return. I hope to see some little mouths peeking up soon!

So Walker...

April 22nd, 2009

This is so Walker right now... he's obsessed with gloves. He wears his winter ones or his gardening gloves all the time for a variety of reasons. Yesterday he wore his winter gloves over to pick up Ainsley after school. One of the Mom's asked me if we were doing weeding... Um... NO... he needs to wear them to drive his imaginary "motorcycler" (as Walker says)

So here he is posing... with his gloves... and making "motorcycler" noises.
