Ahh... Warm Weather!

April 20th, 2009

Yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed outside. We got the sprinklers turned on for the season...

Got our seeds started for our garden...

And both kiddos got their sunflower seeds started...

The Party...

April 19th, 2009

She had a great 7th Birthday Party...

Ainsley with her birthday dress... she wore her lanyard too... in fact most of the girls wore them too!

We made Rock Star bracelets...

Ate pizza and then had Ten screaming girls Rockin' out to Disney Karaoke songs.

Love this picture of Ainsley... enjoying the moment with her friends.

It was a great birthday party... am really glad it's all over and everyone had a fun time.

Spelling

April 15th, 2009

These are Ainsley's spelling words this week... I thought they looked a bit hard for 1st grade. She's got them down though for her test tomorrow.

Little Recap...

April 14th, 2009

Warning tons of pictures!!!

Think I'll be a little MIA this week... trying to get everything finished up for Ainsley's Birthday Party this weekend. But wanted to tied you all over with a few pictures from the very busy weekend.

Friday... Walker and I made cookies... love the flour that's on his mouth... he was sneaking dough.

Later off to Trogden's for some egg dyeing...

As usual the kiddos put on a little show for us... such SuperStars!

Saturday both kiddos had soccer games... at the same time!..so Stewart and I had to switch at half time. Both kiddos did great... each made a goal.

Later Saturday we put out treats for the Easter Bunny... carrots, carrot shaped cookies and a Dr. Pepper... looks like the Easter Bunny preferred the cookies over the real carrots... he did nibble on one carrot.

Easter morning came very early... Ainsley was up at 3am calling, "Mommy... I think the Easter Bunny came!"

Um... sorry it's waaay to early... back to bed. Then it was Walker's turn... who was out of bed at 6am shouting, "The Easter Bunny came!!" Mean parents we were... back to bed... at 6:30ish we figured we couldn't hold them off any longer. And down the stairs they went collecting eggs and then they spotted more in the back yard.

Since we were up so early we had plenty of time to eat breakfast, enjoy the Easter Baskets and then head to church... kiddos in their "Sunday Best"

The rest of Sunday was one of those days you wish could last forever... the weather was perfect we played frisbee, baseball and colored with chalk in the backyard. Then headed over to the school field to fly kites... and then after dinner took a bike ride around the neighborhood. A very busy... but very fun Easter weekend.

One more picture of Miss Cutie Pie...

Ode To Olivia...

April 10th, 2009

Walker loves Olivia... not so much the books, because you can't get the voices down like on the show... it's pretty funny if fact us parents enjoy it too. We currently have all 17 episodes on the DVR.

Walker cracks me up with his Oliviaisms... like this conversation that took place last week while trying to get ready for school.

Walker: Hey Mommy can I have popcorn for breakfast?

Me: Um... Popcorn... sorry No.

Walker: Pretty please???

Me: Sorry you can't have popcorn for breakfast.

Walker: Double Please????

Me: Walker you can't have popcorn for breakfast.

Walker: Triple Please??? (giving me the puppy eyes.)

Me: Sorry... still No.

Walker: Well... it works on Olivia!

Ha! Had to laugh out loud at this one.

Kindergarten

April 9th, 2009

Just signed up this cutie for Kindergarten!!!

Ainsley had a great Birthday yesterday. I think it's always as fun for me planning as it is for her to enjoy it.

Yesterday when she got home from school and Stewart was off work, I had her go upstairs for a surprise... I had decorated her bedroom door... she kept saying, "What's that on my door?"

She quickly got into it...(feel like I need to enter Mad Scientist laugh here)

All the presents on her door were just little silly things... like gum, new markers, candy but she loved it.

I love... love this next picture... yes it's blurry, but this is what I love about taking pictures... a moment in time captured. It shows exactly how she was with each little present she opened. She'd yell, "Thank you Mommy/Daddy and then tackle us with squeeze hugs!

Then off to dinner at McDonalds. The historian in me feels the need to document... well everything. I snapped a picture of them at dinner... Walker is less than thrilled. I asked him to give me his eyes for 1 minute and he says,"But I'm eating!

Off to Walker's Soccer practice... it's raining and we are sitting in the car... can you tell???

Last picture of the day... home to Blueberry pie, Birthday singing and Birthday wishes.

Seven Years Old...

April 8th, 2009

How could something so small... so perfect...

grow so unbelievably FAST!!!

I can hardly believe that precious little one is the same precious one that stands for me in front of the camera today. Having a Mommy moment now... to have been able to stay home with her the past 7 years and witness every little struggle and triumph has been an amazing journey... and still is. I am SO proud of the person she is becoming, she is kind and caring, s0 lovey, lots of silliness, super duper smart and always full of life. Love this girl so.

Got all 30 cupcakes packed up and ready for school this afternoon. Got her invites ready to drop off. We decided to have her party next Saturday with it being Easter this weekend. She's having a Camp Rock theme... for those of you wondering what the heck Camp Rock is... it's a Disney Movie with the Jonas Brothers...

Had a cute idea for her invites... they are all on lanyards. The front says, "BackStage Pass" with all the info for the party and the back has just the Camp Rock picture.  They turned out great... and most importantly Ainsley thought they Rocked!

We got this for her party...

It's Karaoke with all the Disney Movie songs (Camp rock, Hannah Mt, and High School Musical) We thought we'd better test it out this past weekend... Ainsley kept saying, "Thank you Mommy/Daddy this is so much fun!" Who knew we had quite the Rock Star on our hands. Ainsley was all changing the mic between hands, dancing and singing all the words! I just laughed when I saw these pictures...

Tonight she requested dinner at McDonalds and frankly I'm relieved since we have to squeeze in soccer practice and homework. I asked her what she wanted for dessert... I was totally thinking she'd want Rhubarb pie or brownies... something. She says,"I was thinking Blueberry Pie!" So that's my next thing to do on my list... never made one, should make for an interesting day!

One last note... yesterday she had Soccer practice... and they have a new player... a girl!!! Ainsley was pretty excited to find out... had to give her the low down on the rules... "No chatting on the field... on the sidelines is fine but out on the field you play soccer." One more picture from last night... just check out that attitude!

Soccer Craziness and Easter Bunny...

April 7th, 2009

Yesterday started the Soccer season... we have soccer 5 days a week!!!

Walker had his first practice last night... he was glad to see some familar faces from last year's team.

He did great listening and dribbling through the cones... until there was a BUG on his ball... ha! Too funny, we told him to just kick the ball and it would fly off... Um... nope not happening. His coach went over and got it off... and then he was back in the game.

Ainsley has her first practice tonight... and I believe it's the same team as last year... she'll be the only girl again but she's fine with all that now since they all go to the same school and are all in1st grade.

Sunday while at Walmart the kids got their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Ainsley says, "The Easter Bunny must be VERY busy because I saw a person's skin." Told her that just like Santa, the Easter Bunny has lots of helpers!

Curly Hair...

April 6th, 2009

While walking around in the Dollar Store with the kids (they had big money to spend... ha!) this weekend I ran into those pink foam curlers that I had as a kid. Ainsley wanted to get some to try and make her hair curly. So this weekend while she read me her books I put them in... she looked so cute!

When we took them out Sunday morning she started to cry, "I don't like it... is it going to be like this forever?" Once I got her calmed down and told her it was just something fun to try... she was fine and later on in the morning the curls relaxed a bit and she loved being curly!

As soon as I saw this picture... I was instantly brought back in time to when she was 3 years old and always had curly hair... can't believe how much time has past since this photo was taken... in my mind it was only yesterday!

Oh My...

April 4th, 2009

So this was what I was faced with the other day with laundry...

These are Ainsley's pants and I am seriously wondering she does at school on the playground... I'm thinking she slides on asphalt... ha!

Had to end up bleaching them and hoping for the best... got most of the black out... thinking they will now be camping pants.
