Summer Do...

May 29th, 2009

Here's Ainsley's new hair cut for the summer... she wanted to go really short... turned out so cute!

She had a great last day of first grade... popsicles and recess what could be more fun than that?? We all are looking forward to summer vacation... will be making our "what we want to do this summer" list today. We will be spending a lot of time having lunches at the park and library trips during the week. We have so many camping adventures planned for this year as well... Yellowstone, Glacier, Craters of the Moon, to name a few. To keep her interested in reading for the summer I told her that if she reads 100 books we'd have a little party at the end of summer at the Outer Limits (aka like Chuckie Cheese).

Ainsley's Last Day...

May 28th, 2009

Today is Ainsley's last day of first grade... geesh it seems like this was the fastest year yet! Ainsley was really excited when I picked her up yesterday... she got the teacher she wanted for second grade... Mrs. Reed... but was devastated to find out that her BFF Morgan was NOT going to be in her class, but they made a plan for next year to meet by the flag pole for recess. Told them we will have all summer to play and hang out before school started.

I asked Ainsley what she is most excited about 2nd grade and she said, "If you do all your work you get a star... when the star chart is filled... you get to have POP IN CLASS!!!"

Off for a haircut after school... getting a tad long don'tcha think?? Then home to change into Soccer gear... last game tonight for both!

New Look...

After months of saving her money... she finally had enough to get her ears pierced!

Great Weekend...

May 26th, 2009

A camping weekend away at Big Springs... so nice to get away from "everyday life." So good to smell that mountain air... and pine scent that can only be captured while camping. There was snow playing... hikes on the trails... rock tossing into the stream... good food... games of rummy... birthday wishes... rainstorms... campfires... cupcakes and tent napping. To sum up a WONDERFUL weekend.  Here's a few favorite pictures from the weekend...

PreSchool and Rhubarb...

May 22nd, 2009

Today was Walker's last day of PreSchool... hard to believe my baby is off to Kindergarten in the fall. He had a great last day... a trip to a big park and popsicles!

Thought I'd attach a FIRST day of PreSchool picture and a LAST day of PreSchool picture...

I wasn't feeling very crafty this year to make teacher gifts so I just had the kiddos make thank you cards for their teachers. Here's Walker's...

Today I also started picking rhubarb... this gave me 24 cups! In to the freezer it went... sure will be tasty this winter!

Were heading out camping tomorrow... Walker's excited to be camping on his birthday... a first for us all. Have a safe and happy memorial weekend!

So Proud...

May 21st, 2009

Ainsley had her school performance today... so very proud of her!

She was a garden fairy in the performance "How does your garden grow." She was so cute dancing but to top it off she had a lead role singing!!! She has been working on it for a couple months, she even asked her teacher if she could have a copy of the music so that she could get it just right... she had Daddy play the music and she practiced... in fact we have all been singing, "How does your garden grow?" in our heads.

Walker came dressed for the show... including wearing his "motorcycler gloves". Stewart and I began to chuckle as he pulled those out of his pocket and put them on... could NOT talk him out of wearing them.

Here's a bunch of photos... and at the end is a clip of her singing!

These were the flowers..(Ainsley's best friend is in the blue on the floor)

Here are the weeds...(they sang a little rap song)

Here are the gardeners... who did a little square dancing.

Here she is in her "stage mode" she was big smiles the entire show... she really enjoyed performing.

Afterward we took her out to Dairy Queen for a special treat...

Here's the video clip...

Yard

May 20th, 2009

The yard smells absolutely WONDERFUL thanks to this beautiful apple tree...

It's normally just a buzzing, but today it is a tad cooler so I was able to get a close up shot too!

And look what's coming up in the garden... radishes!!

Busy Week...

May 17th, 2009

Between soccer practice, soccer games, field trips and the last minute projects for school it has been a busy week. It was so nice to head out to Scout Mountain this weekend for a day trip. To have a picnic with the kiddos... to scope out a camping spot for later in the summer and to just relax before another crazy week begins.

As we were walking around we saw this... a very big and long beaver dam...

As we turned around we saw that the beavers had just recently taken about 5 trees down in the same area... here's a close up of those teeth marks... a fun thing for the kiddos to see.

Loved getting up to Scout Mountain so early to see these as well...

Just a few more favorite pictures from the day... love those eyes!

Cute hubby...

And one of me too...

The kiddos were quite crabby when it was time to pack up and head for home... I love that they enjoy the outdoors just as much as we do.

Ugh
