Besides the beautiful weather the last couple of days, the kiddos wearing short sleeves, capris and baseball hats. I'm hoping this is a sure sign that spring is finally here... snowman parts found in the backyard yesterday.

A new day... a new smile..
Notice anything missing... like 2 teeth!
Ainsley got 2 more teeth pulled yesterday... making room for those new permanent teeth that are trying to find a space to poke through. She did awesome again... got to come home and chill on the couch with some Wizards of Waverly Place shows and then a Butterfinger milkshake for dinner and surprisingly she also felt good to eat 2 helpings of lasagna.
She wore her glasses all day yesterday except at recess time and did well... thought she'd have a sore nose, or a headache but luckily they seem to be fine. She came bursting out of the door from school yesterday to say that she could see the words on the overhead for the patriotic songs they are practicing. Other things she notices... how dirty the windshield of the car was ha! Only downfall to glasses is that it makes it difficult to wear headbands... her absolutely favorite thing to wear in her hair.
Last picture of the day... Little Boys should really come with instructions that say, "Warning... will wear out shoes faster than you can blink!"
Yesterday afternoon we picked up her new glasses.. and today she was super excited to wear them to class..
Was funny to see her wear them out of the store... she had to high step... thinking there was a ledge on the floor.
Here's the cute polka dot side..
It seems like it's never just a Birth"day" at our house it's more like a Birthday week... here's some pictures of the past few days...
On Thursday the "actual day" I got my current favorite picture of the kiddos just before heading to school...
Ainsley wanted cupcakes with sprinkles as her bday treat to share at school so 30 of these were dropped off in the afternoon...
She came home to find her door decorated...
Best part... ripping off all the paper...
Thursday was also both kiddos soccer practices so we headed to McDonalds for a birthday treat... where she got a big person meal... and ate the whole thing!
After soccer it was home for birthday sour cream and rhubarb pie...
Finally Saturday was her party... and she was all but bursting at the seams with excitement. Some party decorations... her idea for the waterfall of streamers..
Loved how the balloons on the ceiling came out and her Wizards of Waverly place cake..
Miss Birthday girl... and one too many pictures taken... sore cheeks.
Soon all her friends came and they were hard at work making magic wand sand art necklaces and bracelets...
Love this picture of Ainsley laughing and giggling with her friends as we all sang Happy Birthday..
Finally after cake, ice cream and presents it was time for them to head home... we picked out these cute mini bubblegum machines as favors to send home with each girl..
I hope it was as magical for her on her "golden birthday" as it was for me to plan.
So on Monday I helped out at school in Ainsley's classroom and was busy doing my normal thing of correcting papers. Her teacher asked if they were getting the math assignment. I had just corrected Ainsley's paper and said, "Well Ainsley's math is correct but she wrote down the wrong numbers."
Asked her if she could see the board and she said sometimes and if she looks too hard at it her eyes get blurry.
So immediately came home and made her an eye appointment for Friday... disclaimer on the pictures... really bad lighting... really need a new point and shoot purse camera
Well, come to find out she's nearsighted a bit. As I'm mulling all this over and asking 5 billion questions the doctor says, "Well nearsightedness can happen at anytime... like growth spurts... one year you grow a bunch other years you stay the same." and that it probably just happened in the past couple of months.
We went and picked out glasses and had such an awesome helper... she asked Ainsley a bunch of questions on what she liked to do... what colors she liked... hobbies etc and then we just started trying them on...
We picked out about 10 pairs and then started narrowing down to find the perfect pair. These were the top three...
Super cute brown and pink butterflies..
Super cute pink ones with flip and spin sides that do nothing but look cute...
and finally super cute brown ones with polka dots all down the sides..
We had no input... other than those are cute and so are those etc... really wanted her to pick out the ones she really wanted. And the winner was... the last pair... super cute... so her... she liked them because as she said, "I'm an artist and I like to paint and these have all the colors of the rainbow in polka dots."
So we ordered the glasses and they will be in next week... can't wait to see what she "sees differently" All in all a very positive experience... and lastly she went home with these "ultra cool sunglasses" since her eyes were all dilated...
My oh my where does the time go??
2nd birthday...
and today 8th birthday...
Love you so Ainsley Kaye!
Walker came home from school today with headbands he made for Daddy and Mommy...
And a whole dinosaur hat for himself...
Of course I had to wear it for a picture...
Super cute, thoughtful little bug.
Kiddos in their Easter best...
Had a really good rest of the weekend... sore wii arms today after the wii marathon at the Trogdens. Kiddos were happy to be able to play it for the first time (last time us parents hogged the wii)..
Had a crazy egg hunt this morning at home...
Love this blurry picture of Walker... he was totally surprised as to what Mr. E. Bunny brought..
But totally happy!
We ate way too much good food... curled up all together to watch Ainsley's new Barbie movie... and then played some new card games the kiddos also got... fun times!
All set and ready for Easter morning... a ton of pictures to follow...
Cookies have been made..
and decorated..
Eggs have been boiled..
and dyed..
Egg hunts were braved...
That is a sheet of ice, the wind just howled blowing prizes and eggs everywhere... it was crazy and cold!!
But the reward of candy was pretty "sweet"...
Chocolate milk , cookie carrots and empty baskets were set out for Mr. E. Bunny...
The very wound up, excited and tired kiddos are now off to bed...
Finished up Ainsley's Birthday invites today...
They turned out pretty good... used backpack tags and then on the back I put all the party info. Have most everything else planned... just need to do up her little party favor tags and decide on a design for her cake.
