Eyes

So on Monday I helped out at school in Ainsley's classroom and was busy doing my normal thing of correcting papers. Her teacher asked if they were getting the math assignment. I had just corrected Ainsley's paper and said, "Well Ainsley's math is correct but she wrote down the wrong numbers."

Asked her if she could see the board and she said sometimes and if she looks too hard at it her eyes get blurry.

So immediately came home and made her an eye appointment for Friday... disclaimer on the pictures... really bad lighting... really need a new point and shoot purse camera

Well, come to find out she's nearsighted a bit. As I'm mulling all this over and asking 5 billion questions the doctor says, "Well nearsightedness can happen at anytime... like growth spurts... one year you grow a bunch other years you stay the same." and that it probably just happened in the past couple of months.

We went and picked out glasses and had such an awesome helper... she asked Ainsley a bunch of questions on what she liked to do... what colors she liked... hobbies etc and then we just started trying them on...

We picked out about 10 pairs and then started narrowing down to find the perfect pair. These were the top three...

Super cute brown and pink butterflies..

Super cute pink ones with flip and spin sides that do nothing but look cute...

and finally super cute brown ones with polka dots all down the sides..

We had no input... other than those are cute and so are those etc... really wanted her to pick out the ones she really wanted. And the winner was... the last pair... super cute... so her... she liked them because as she said, "I'm an artist and I like to paint and these have all the colors of the rainbow in polka dots."

So we ordered the glasses and they will be in next week... can't wait to see what she "sees differently" All in all a very positive experience... and lastly she went home with these "ultra cool sunglasses" since her eyes were all dilated...
