Almost 5 years...

February 18th, 2009

Hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since this was taken...

Found this picture yesterday while organizing pictures... Ainsley had just gotten her big girl bed back then... seems like yesterday. Had her sit on her bed this morning so that I could take the same shot again...

She has her jump rope-a-thon tomorrow... it's all she's been taking about all month. At first she was calling it a "jump rope bufawn" took me forever to figure out what a "bufawn" was. She's excited to take in her own jump rope tomorrow and a bottle of water... they'll be jumping for an hour, bet she'll be a tired girl after school.

Walker's got this yucky cough... you know the one that sounds all juicy.. everyone at his school has it... ugh. But he did make it to school yesterday for his 100th day of Preschool. Here he is with his 100th day crown... he's all smiles here but it took some bribing to get a picture... little stinker.

Weekend Highlights...

February 16th, 2009

A sick little bug on the couch for a day... he missed his Valentine party at school and Ainsley was more upset about it than he was.

Ainsley was super excited about her Valentine party... wanted her hair all fancy... a ponytail and a headband... and picked out just the right outfit... she cracks me up sometimes.

After her party she was busy eating some of her candy and bit down on a hard piece... causing a loose tooth to become really loose. So she and Daddy worked on it until she decided that she and the tooth weren't quite ready.

The next day she was busy playing with it and it fell out! Here's the new look...

Lastly the kiddos were working on what else a craft project... I love the difference between the two... Ainsley being so precise with the paint and Walker putting as much paint as he can on.

Planning

February 10th, 2009

We've been planning this week for our first camping trip of the season, here...

Really excited about camping at the Arches National Park in Utah at the end of next month. We told the kids and the first thing Ainsley said is, "Are we going to need hiking boots?" followed by, "I want to get pink ones!" Walker keeps saying, "I'm so excited to go camping!!" (with big eyes and smiles)

We wanted to head here before it got too hot since there is little shade and the temps reach up into the 100's in June. Originally the plan was to go in April but we quickly found out how popular the campground is... all reservable spots are booked clear into July already! We got the last reservable spot the end of March. Temps should be just right for camping and hiking then in the 70's.

So that's what's been keeping us occupied... got out the camping stuff last night to organize and get lists made. So nice to think about Spring since it's Snowing, again here today.

Busy

February 5th, 2009

Haven't had much to say lately... been busy doing the usual life stuff. Thought I'd post a cute picture of Little Bug.

Dancing

January 28th, 2009

So they would be dancing...

Just in case you were wondering... because it looks like Walker is doing angry air karate and Ainsley looks like she's going to cry. But no it's dancing... they were super excited when we downloaded 2 MP3 songs from the Camp Rock Soundtrack... so cute to hear their little voices singing, "We rock... we rock!"

Next Picture... this would be 15 minutes into a playdate this afternoon... Yikes! Yeah the room looks a tad worse now... it will be tomorrow's project. Fun times were had by all though.

Next this is Ainsley at the library picking out her own books to read... seriously blows my mind she's actually reading on her own... not really sounding out words... reading!

Finally I'm pretty much sick of winter... but I've had some good help this past week clearing off the driveway...

The Cars Obsession...

January 22nd, 2009

The Cars obsession continues... I was thinking that he might be moving on to other things but nope still an everyday occurance. Lately he has to have his Cars CD playing while he gets dressed for the day or when it's time for jammies. Love to hear him jam out to "Life is a Highway!" now if we could just focus on using the actual words.

So it was a big deal when we found this at Wal-Mart last week... the Chick Hicks Hauler!!

He sure has been cracking us up lately with what he says. Yesterday Ainsley had a playdate after school and he said, "Ainsley sure has been gone along time... I forgot what she looked like!" Then went and got a picture.

This saying as been going around the house whenever anyone is singing, "Can you please stop singing... you are giving me a headache! (always followed by his hand on his head).

A Historical Moment...

January 20th, 2009

Over the past few days we've been talking to the kiddos about the historical moment taking place today. We want them to know about current events (good ones that is) and the significance of history. So on that note Ainsley decided yesterday to draw... she wanted me to find a picture of Obama so that she could draw him.

Here is her picture... love it!

I've got the inauguration recording and we will watch it all together tonight.

Sweet

January 13th, 2009

Ainsley newest word... "Sweet!" used... well just about all time... oh my... too many times.

Took the kids to see High School Musical 3 over the weekend... cute show. They both liked it... or as Ainsley would say... Sweet! Walker goes more for the popcorn... actually amazed he made it through the whole show... he usually gets antsy half way through them. Had the theater just about to ourselves... guess that's the joy in waiting until the show hits the $2 theater.

Spent the rest of the weekend... doing the January thing... organizing and cleaning out.

Because I can't post with out a picture... here are the kiddos enjoying our favorite obsession... Costco strawberry sundaes... mmm.tasty!
