Ainsley Jumping In Pool...

March 16th, 2009

Here's that video that I mentioned last week of Ainsley jumping in the pool (in the deep end) and swimming to her teacher... a huge step.

Orthodontist

March 13th, 2009

Ainsley had her first Orthodontist appointment today... scary to think we are already to that time. It was just a consultation... a little planning for the future.

There isn't much room for her new teeth to come in so looks like we will be taking out 3 of the baby teeth on the bottom... delaying the inevitable of braces until all permanent teeth are in.

She is scared about getting some teeth pulled until I told her, "Oh you won't feel a thing."

she asks, "Why?"

And I say, "They will give you a shot so that you can't feel a thing."

she says, "A shot... where?"

I say in the mouth... so needless to say she's now freaked out about the shot.

Finished up swimming lessons tonight, hoping to start back up again once we get the kiddos soccer schedules. Hoping to get a video up on the blog this weekend that shows Ainsley jumping in the deep end and swimming... big accomplishment!

And because I can't post without a picture here's one of the kiddos earlier this week... sharing imagine that!

Random Photos...

March 12th, 2009

Ainsley brought home this yesterday...

She had to draw what she wanted to be when she grows up... her response, "A Rock Star Artist!"

Walker hardly ever brings home "projects" from school so this was a cute find in his backpack... he was practicing writing his Y's.

Symphony

March 11th, 2009

We took the kids to the family symphony last week... they had pre-concert activities where the kids got to play instruments, make cookies, use Native American instruments, try on costumes etc.

As usual the kids were all about decorating cookies... they did like the xylophone though.

A few more pictures... and yes Ainsley has her brain headband on backwards... some battles you have to just let go.

By the time the symphony started the kiddos were getting tired... add in a warm room and low lighting and pretty soon the kiddos were curled up on our laps. The concert was great... Stewart and I really enjoyed it... and I learned a thing or two... did you know that the harp has pedals??

Chart

March 9th, 2009

Over the weekend the kids saw a fly in the living room... in fact they screamed "Fly!!!" and proceed to do the frantic cry... sad I know... you'd think they'd never been outside.

Anyway... we calmly said, "Get the cat... she needs some entertainment for the day"

Mulan played around with the fly and finally decided to eat it... and everything got back to normal. Later in the day I see this taped to the wall... a fly chart for Mulan... complete with stickers! One for yesterday and one because as Ainsley said, "I know she ate one... sometime other time... so we should record each time she eats one."

Birthday Celebrations...

March 6th, 2009

Had a great birthday... especially when you find this..

For my B-day I thought the kids would have fun with an ice cream party so after school/work we headed to the store to pick out our favorite ice creams...

Favorite toppings and each a candle..

Later that night Walker got sick... thought it was the rootbeer, strawberry, tagalong. chocolate, strawberry, caramel sprinkles sundae... but nope just the flu crud from school.

For Stewart's birthday, Ainsley and I made cupcakes... she made an extra special one for Daddy...

Just a few more pictures..

Love catching Walker making his wish...

Last one of us two... taken by kiddos.

School Work...

March 3rd, 2009

Over the weekend it became quiet... too quiet. I asked Ainsley what she was doing she replies, "I'm doing Math."

Went upstairs to check it out and she was at the dry erase board working on math problems... not too bad only missed one.

It's crazy what she's learning in school already... the other day she was telling us what goods and services were... remember from Economics?? They are already doing fractions and geometry... I can't remember when we learned those but I'm sure it wasn't first grade. And she now is reading at 2nd grade level!

She has a super big heart... yesterday she was telling me about a girl at school whom she plays with from time to time. She tells me that some kids don't like to play with her... because she's in the special needs class... and has some eye problems. So innocently she replies, "That's just the way she was born." Makes you feel good as a parent.

Home Bound...

February 26th, 2009

Walker's just getting over an ear infection... woke up on Monday night every other hour crying and holding his ear. Poor little bug... got him an afternoon appointment the next day and sure enough an ear infection in both ears. Got him some meds and yesterday he started feeling better but kept him home from school for one more day. It sure was nice to cuddle up with him on the couch watching Wall E, doing puzzles and playing toys... today was back to reality... school and the grocery store.

Trains

February 23rd, 2009

This weekend we took the kiddos to the Railroad Historical Society where they have a huge display of model trains... I mean huge it fills half a building.

Walker was so excited... big smiles the whole time. He couldn't see very well so we had to carry him the whole time... man our arms were dead. Ainsley was less than thrilled and asked way too many times if it was time to leave yet.

Stewart and I thought it was pretty cool... the details for me is what made it interesting. Just look at how intricate the towns were...

Rock Star...

February 21st, 2009

Can you hear her singing... "I might even be a Rock Star!"
