So Proud...

March 6th, 2010

So very proud of her today...

She was so nervous to do her First Reconciliation... sweaty palms the works (like she really has anything to worry about) but she did it and after her penance she lit her baptismal candle with Stewart and then let out a huge sigh.

The whole ceremony took around 2 hours... a pretty long time to wait if you're five and your name is Walker but he sat there very patiently... proud of him as well.

Birthday Review...

March 5th, 2010

Thank you all for the birthday wishes... we really did have great birthdays this year nothing special just time spent together.

As I took photos last night I watched the kids while Stewart blew out his candles... they just sat there smiling and waiting...

Gosh they are growing up fast... reminded me of a birthday past where they had to "help" blow out candles... Walker's expression is absolutely priceless..

We don't seem to change much from year to year (maybe a few more grey hairs) but they sure do... me and kiddos from last year..

and then just the other day...

This weekend Ainsley is doing her First Reconciliation... so very proud of her for learning all her prayers. She's excited to wear a new dress and of course the cookies and punch afterwards!

Boxes

March 4th, 2010

I seriously think we should get a big box each month... the kiddos have so much fun creating and playing in them. They waited a whole week to be able to use this box (we had to check to make sure the item worked before I'd let them color it up). This was the rocket that took Ainsley, Walker and Webkinz friends on an adventure into space...

It's so funny how they will play together so well and then the next moment this is being taped on Ainsley's door...(obviously meant for Walker who goes in anyway and says, "Well... I can't read!")

Then last night Ainsley let Walker put in his name on one of her DSi games and they curled up on the couch together... makes my heart sigh... to see them like this..

Costco Treats...

March 3rd, 2010

We heart Costco treats... in the past we use to consume way too many Berry sundaes. We just recently discovered a new yummy treat... Hand-dipped Ice cream bars... covered in chopped almonds!!

So in honor of Birthday week we had dessert first yesterday...

Ainsley likes her ice cream bars without almonds...

and Little Bug choose a cinnamony... surgary... churro!

Oh how we love Costco treats.

Somedays

February 25th, 2010

Somedays my two kiddos are at eachothers throats constantly... I'm forever saying..

"Keep your hands to yourself"

"Give that back"

"Come here... right now!"

"Is that how we treat people?"

But every now and then they surprise me and I know we are doing something right... Walker found 22 cents around town yesterday (he's mister lucky... always on the lookout for loose coins) Ainsley was so irritated that he found some coins and she didn't. Later in the day I found this...

Field Trip...

February 24th, 2010

Yesterday Ainsley had her field trip to Texas Roadhouse...

She cracks me up with her poses! Anyway they first stopped off at a gymnastic place to burn off some energy... 60 kids jumping into a big foam pit... yikes! Glad I wasn't there to stress over that.

At the restaurant they got to make their own yummy rolls with cinnabutter which she brought home 2 to share. They did line dancing and then had lunch served to them in these cute little hats. She had a great time... best part of her day according to her was when she got to keep the plastic gloves... blow them up and pop them on the bus ride home!

Being Five...

February 23rd, 2010

The joy of being five and the highlight of your day is the plastic fish you got from a classmates birthday cupcakes.

As soon as we got home he immediately went to the bathroom sink to play with his fish... oh to be 5.

Sports Day...

February 22nd, 2010

Saturday Ainsley (& friends) took part in National Girls Sports Day at ISU.

For 3 hours they got to try new sports or play old favorites. Ainsley signed up for Tennis, Volleyball and Rock Climbing. Here she is rock climbing!..

She loved Tennis the best and this spring she wants to get a racket and play a bit more. Rock climbing was her second favorite and man were her little arms and legs tired on Sunday. Her least favorite was Volleyball... so glad she got to try some new sports and have fun! She's already talking about what she wants to try next year.

4+Hours

February 19th, 2010

For 4+ hours I sorted and searched for the lego pieces that went to a certain collection until I came up with the idea to sort them by color... making it a tad easier.

What prompted this you ask?? Well... when Walker got his first Lego set we suggested that he keep all the pieces to that project together in a bag, so that he could follow the directions without being frustrated looking for that certain part. Well it was a concept that just didn't take with him and he likes to build other creations as well. So fastforward to yesterday and he decides he wants to build his big helicopter which has like 445 pieces and was super frustrated and wished that they all were in sets like when they first come... HELLO... that was the idea in the beginning. So sucker that I am for organization we set out to conquer the Lego sets and put them and the directions in their own baggie... and at 4+ hours later even with the help of Daddy we still have a couple sets left to put away. Thinking I'm going to get just a set of "plain Legos" so that he can continue making his flags without mixing up the sets.

Other pictures from the week... poor Ainsley seems like I haven't taken her picture all week... probably because she's either at school or can be found like this at home... connected to her DSi (which now has time limits attached to it.)

This picture cracks me up... not sure if he's in his Abe Lincoln mode or just perturbed at me for taking his picture...

Lastly Spring... can you all tell the kiddos are just as anxious for Spring as the rest of us are...

Olympic Craze...

February 16th, 2010

We have been watching the Olympics like crazy... Ainsley loves the ice skating, Stewart and I pretty much enjoy all of it and Walker while he isn't into watching the sports he does like to make the countries flags...
