Snake

May 12th, 2011

My cute and overactive imaginative little Bug likes to pretend that breakfast cinnamon rolls are actually... grilled, glazed snake! Seriously where does he come up with this stuff???

He also had his 1st grade performance yesterday...

The program this year was Disney on Parade. He had a little dancing part in the Lion King's song "Hakuna Matata"..

Working on his bday invites today... he wants a Tron party at the Fun Zone... that will be happening next weekend!!

Mother's Day...

May 8th, 2011

I am incredibly blessed to have experienced my very first Mother's day in 2002...

And then again with two kiddos in 2005...

Every day in between and soon to come is a blessing... some days are harder than others... but to have these 2 precious beings in my life trusting me to guide them through life is amazing. I would not have changed a single day and am so fortunate to spend each day with them. Thank you Ainsley and Walker for letting Mama be just that... a Mama. I love you both more than you can imagine.

Friday

Yea it's Friday...

Good Morning...

May 5th, 2011

The view this morning...

I'm enjoying my coffee this morning... listening to the birds sing and thinking ahh... my first day since January that I have all to myself... no work... no volunteering... no extra craziness.

Dessert First...

May 3rd, 2011

This cute girl got 2 more teeth pulled yesterday to make more room for those big guys waiting to come in...

To help her feel better... we all had dessert first before dinner...

Gave her some Ibuprofen before her numbness wore off and she didn't have any other pain and is doing just fine today. She was excited to find that the Tooth Fairy must have really needed those teeth since she got 2 gold coins and $4.00 paper dollars as well.

Being The Parents...

May 2nd, 2011

Being the parents is good when a movie and this for dinner is a good thing...

We had a late brunch yesterday and us parents weren't hungry at dinnertime so we made the kiddos dinner, showered them and tucked into bed. Soon after we started up the popcorn maker and then came the callings from upstairs...

From Walker: "Mommy... are you making popcorn??" (and then the endless questions) "Can I have some? Why are you making popcorn? Can we watch a movie too? But I'm not tired! Can I get up just for a minute to eat popcorn and watch a show too?..that's not fair!"

From Ainsley: "Mommy what's that smell? Are you guys making popcorn? Can we have some too... why not?"

Love being able to say, "Sorry it's bedtime... we're the parents... we get salty caramel corn for dinner!

A Pair...

April 30th, 2011

Are these two a pair or what???

Friday was "fake injury day" at school and the kiddos were too excited to get all "beat up" they both wanted black eyes and bandages all over... along with some gauze and fake blood on their arms. It cracks me up how they look forward to this day each year!

Our Trip...

April 28th, 2011

Our big trip is only a little over a month away and I started thinking about the first camping trip we ever went on as a family. We went to the Grand Tetons in May of 2007... the kiddos were so small... and were so unimpressed with the gorgeous scenery... in fact they watched a movie while we drove around the park and I hopped out to take pictures and soak it all in.

It was their first "real taste" of the outdoors... and this is what I remember most about that trip... how Walker and the dirt seemed to become one...

Normal

April 27th, 2011

Things are finally getting back to normal... the birthday events are over, (Little Bug's birthday hasn't entered into the planning phase yet) Easter is finished, my work is finishing up for the year and the house is starting to get back on some sort of normalcy. Hopefully blogging will also be back on track... I miss looking back to see what was going on the past few months. Life has a tendency to pass quickly for me especially if I don't take a moment to record it.

The kitchen table is back to looking like this...

instead of projects being pushed aside to make way for just homework.

True Artist...

April 18th, 2011

She's a true artist... one who gets into their work...

Today was the last day of her Paper Mache class. She absolutely enjoyed every single class! She made an egg pinata... which we think is to cute to smash to pieces. She also made a bowl which she left at class to be entered into the fair this summer and lastly she made a mask..

So here's the freaky mask on...

Yeah... I'm going to have nightmares about this.
